Barcelona reaches agreement with the first summer signing

Barcelona is gearing up for a long summer in the transfer market, as the Catalan club seeks to bolster its squad ahead of the new season to fill gaps and reinforce positions that were lacking during the season that ended yesterday.
Barcelona achieved a remarkable 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao yesterday, Sunday, at San Mamés Stadium, in the final round of the Spanish Premier League. The Blaugrana clinched the title in the 36th round after defeating Espanyol.
Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, is now scouring the market, in consultation with Hansi Flick, to find players who fit the German coach’s plans and are financially solvent.
According to Cadena Ser and Spanish newspaper AS, Barcelona has reached an initial agreement to sign promising Espanyol goalkeeper Juan Garcia.

The 24-year-old was in high demand across Europe, with offers from several Premier League clubs.
However, Garcia appears set to remain in La Liga, with Barcelona preparing to activate his release clause, currently valued at €25 million.
However, Barcelona decided to move quickly, realizing that this was a market opportunity they couldn’t miss, especially given the uncertainty surrounding the club’s goalkeeping position.
