Flick sets one condition to continue with Barcelona after being offered a contract renewal

Hansi Flick is leading Barcelona’s surge in results and performance, as they sit atop the La Liga standings with 60 points, with a game in hand against Osasuna today.

In addition, they won the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid at the beginning of the year, and have qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals, making them a strong contender to win the most prestigious tournament. They are also playing in the Copa del Rey semi-finals against Atletico Madrid.

These successes prompted Barcelona’s leaders to offer Hansi Flick a contract extension, but the German coach set a condition and confirmed he would not give it up, according to Catalan newspaper SPORT.

Flick’s condition is that he not extend his contract for a long period, as he is not considering staying at Barcelona for more than three or four years at most, so he asked Joan Laporta to postpone negotiations until the end of the season.

According to the same newspaper, Hansi Flick does not plan to build a long career at Barcelona similar to that of Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
