SPORT: Barcelona midfielder will play his last match against Athletic Bilbao

Catalan newspaper Sport reported that Barcelona’s young midfielder could play his last official match for the Blaugrana on Sunday against Athletic Bilbao.
Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao next Sunday in the final round of the Spanish League at San Mamés Stadium. There is little incentive to win, given that the Catalan club has already clinched the title after defeating Espanyol in Round 36.
Barcelona’s players will go on a six-week break, but Hansi Flick will stay behind to discuss transfer market moves with Deco and Laporta in order to strengthen his squad before the start of next season.
Flick wants to strengthen some positions, and sporting director Deco is combing the market for players who fit the German coach’s plans and Barcelona’s style of play. However, some existing players must be offloaded to make room for new signings.
According to Sport, Barcelona may bid farewell to Pablo Torre, one of its young midfielders, next Sunday when the Catalan team faces Athletic Bilbao at San Mamés. Torre was not part of coach Flick’s plans this season, and a departure from Catalonia appears inevitable given the current situation.
The midfielder has not featured since March, and his last La Liga start came in September, clearly demonstrating Flick’s preference for a midfield trio of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Dani Olmo, alongside regular minutes for Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Marc Casado.
With Toure still on the bench, Barcelona will look to sell him this summer as long as his market value remains high, with the possibility of extending his contract and leaving on loan. His participation in the last match against Athletic Bilbao is also uncertain.
