FIFA admits a serious refereeing mistake that affected the final score of the Barcelona vs Inter Milan match

The ode to football between Inter and Barcelona (4-3) in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals has left several controversial actions .
One in particular, Pau Cubarsí’s penalty on Lautaro Martínez , which led to Hakan Çalhanoglu’s 2-0 lead in the 45th minute, sparked criticism from Arsène Wenger, FIFA’s Director of Global Football Development.
“I’m totally against this type of penalty. And I’m totally against using VAR in slow motion . At normal speed, it’s a big tackle,” the former Arsenal manager said.

“Look at what Lautaro Martínez is doing. He knows he’s not going to score, and he leans towards Cubarsí. He’s looking for the penalty. In my opinion, the referee didn’t make the right decision,” Wenger continued.
“Look at who gets to the ball first. That, for me, is what counts . Lautaro does the rest. Cubarsí plays the ball first,” Wenger says.
