Barcelona player cries in training and Flick teaches the players a lesson because of him
Hansi Flick is known for his ability to manipulate players in the dressing room and bring out the best in them, as we’ve seen with players like Raphinha and Pedri, who went from being nightmares last season to stars in Europe under the veteran German coach.
Raphinha recounted an incident that occurred at Barcelona when Hansi Flick took over as coach of the team after Xavi’s departure, demonstrating Hansi Flick’s ability to manage sensitive situations within the team.
“Vitor put a lot of pressure on me,” Raphinha said. “One day, Vitor was deeply affected by everything that was said about his future. During training, he made simple, repeated mistakes, and then he started crying… Flick called me to help him translate because he couldn’t talk to him.”
He added: “Flick asked him if he wanted to leave training, and Vitor said yes. The coach replied: ‘It’s okay, go and rest.'”
He concluded: “After training, the coach gathered us all together. He didn’t yell, but he said we had to take care of each other, because the team’s success can only be achieved if we’re all on the same page.”
