Laporta threatens Barcelona player with expulsion after Celta Vigo match

Despite Barcelona’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Celta Vigo, which restored hopes of a La Liga title bid, a scene outside the celebrations angered the club’s management. While the players were celebrating, one of their players made an unwelcome gesture that did not go unnoticed by senior officials at Camp Nou.

The scene was shocking: a young player on the team appeared extremely angry at not even playing a minute, despite warming up throughout the second half. Following the final whistle, he expressed his anger by kicking a radiator and throwing his number to the ground. He then left without greeting his teammates or the coaching staff, angering club president Joan Laporta, who categorically rejected the behavior.

Ansu Fati, once seen as Messi’s heir and wearing the number 10 shirt, is the man behind this move. After returning from an unsuccessful spell with Brighton, he failed to establish himself in Hansi Flick’s plans, and his limited appearances since the start of the year have made his position within the team even more fragile. His latest move may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Close sources confirmed that Laporta now views this type of behavior as unacceptable, especially from a player who grew up at La Masia and is familiar with the club’s traditions. He believes that public complaints harm the dressing room and damage the team’s image among fans, especially after a difficult and important victory like the one achieved against Celta.

As a result, the club has begun taking concrete steps to find a permanent solution for Ansu this summer. His contract, which runs until 2027, and his high salary complicate the task, but the club is considering several options, including a loan with an option to buy, or an outright sale if suitable offers become available.

Despite his decline in form, Fati’s name continues to attract interest from clubs such as Sevilla, Real Betis, and Villarreal, as well as Premier League outfits such as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace. However, his exit this time appears to be final, especially after Laporta gave Deco the green light to move, closing a chapter that was once auspicious in the Catalan club’s history.
