Salah offers himself to Barça again
Mohamed Salah is free from Liverpool at the end of the season and, although nothing has been signed, he has a fairly advanced offer from Al-Hilal in which it is said that they can pay him 50 million euros per season. An open future that has triggered all kinds of rumours regarding his possible destination beyond next June 30.
And as could not be otherwise, the name of FC Barcelona has already appeared linked to the future of Mohamed Salah. As reported by SPORT, at the end of 2024 there was already an approach between the two parties, although the lukewarm contacts did not materialize in any type of offer or firm negotiation.
Time has passed and Mohamed Salah continues without revealing where he will play next season. A few months before the end of the current season, and on the verge of turning 33 this June, the file of the veteran Egyptian striker has been opened again. Everything is possible, but the development of the operation is expected to be extremely complicated.
The striker fits the profile that Barça wants, but everyone at the club is very aware of the difficulties in bringing the two sides together financially. His current salary is around 15 million pounds gross and it is taken for granted that Liverpool will spare no millions to try to retain one of its most emblematic players.
From there, we have already commented that in Saudi Arabia they are keeping an eye on Salah and there is no doubt that if the economic element is the most decisive, Salah will join the long list of stars that Saudi football is beginning to accumulate.
At Barça they believe that if Mohamed has received the offer it is because he wants to continue his career away from Liverpool and the Premier League but still enjoying a competitive adventure at the highest level in European football. Now it remains to be seen whether this desire would be accompanied by a significant reduction in his salary to make his arrival at, for example, a club such as the one managed by Hansi Flick viable.
